Who does the Radford Trust help?
Who can apply to receive a grant?
Applicants must be resident in Cornwall. In the case of university and post-graduate students, residence up to the age of 18 is acceptable.
Applications should preferably be made for specific needs. In general, grants are available to assist in the purchase of instruments and music, as a contribution towards the cost of tutition and travel, and for study courses.
Requests are also considered for grant aid in respect of county course fees, provided the authority has already been approached. Where applicants are in full time study the Trustees will want to know the extent to which parents can contribute and what other sources of financial help have been approached.
A music teacher's reference is an essential part of any application , as is documentary evidence in support of financial circumstances and commitments.

Instrument Lending
Also, we have a valuable collection of good student instruments (mostly stringed), which we lend for up to three years to young players.
